Privacy Policy

This page explains, in plain English, what personal information we collect, why we collect it and how we look after it.

Introduction

Hyndes Advisory & Accounts Pty Ltd (referred to as "we", "us" or "our") provides bookkeeping, accounts support and business advisory services. This policy explains how we handle your personal information, and it covers our website at hyndesadvisory.com.au and the services we provide.

We are committed to protecting your privacy and to handling your personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

What personal information we collect

We only collect information we need to help you. Depending on how you interact with us, this may include:

  • Information you provide through our contact form, such as your name, email address, phone number and the message you send.
  • Information you give when you book a chat through Cal.com, such as your name, contact details and the time you choose.
  • Correspondence you send us by email or discuss with us by phone.
  • Basic technical and log data provided by our hosting provider, such as your general location and the type of device or browser you use.
  • Website analytics data collected by Google Analytics, but only if you accept analytics cookies. See "Cookies and analytics" below.

How we use your information

We use your personal information to:

  • Respond to your enquiries and stay in touch with you.
  • Provide our bookkeeping, accounts support and business advisory services.
  • Arrange and manage appointments.
  • Meet our legal, accounting and record-keeping obligations.
  • Maintain and improve our website.

Disclosure to third parties

We do not sell your personal information. We may share it in limited circumstances, including with:

  • Platinum Accounting Australia, where you engage tax services. Tax services are provided under a separate engagement that you sign with Platinum directly, so your relevant information is shared with them for that purpose.
  • Service providers who help us run our business and website. These include Cloudflare, which hosts the website; Cal.com, which handles appointment bookings; Microsoft 365, which we use for email; and Google, which provides the fonts on this site, the analytics described below, and the script and spreadsheet that receive and store contact form enquiries. These providers may store data on our behalf.

Overseas disclosure

Some of the service providers we use may store or process data on servers located outside Australia. Where this happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure your information is handled in a way that is consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles.

Storage and security

We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. Please be aware that no method of transmitting information over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Cookies and analytics

Our website uses minimal cookies. We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors find and use the site, which pages they read, and which enquiry paths they take, so that we can improve it. Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser and records your approximate location, device and browser type, the pages you view, and actions such as clicking a booking link, a phone number or an email address. It does not tell us who you are, and your IP address is anonymised by Google.

Analytics is switched off until you choose it. When you first visit, a banner asks whether you accept analytics cookies. Nothing is loaded or recorded until you select Accept. If you select Decline, no analytics cookies are set and no data is sent. Your choice is stored in your browser and you can change it at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser settings, which brings the banner back. You can also control or delete cookies through your browser settings at any time, or install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Accessing and correcting your information

You have the right to ask for access to the personal information we hold about you, and to ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate, out of date or incomplete. These rights are set out in Australian Privacy Principles 12 and 13. To make a request, please contact us using the details below.

Complaints

If you have a concern about how we have handled your personal information, please contact us first so we can try to resolve it. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes to our practices or legal obligations. The "last updated" date at the top of this page shows the current version.
